World War II Project: Museum Exhibit
Imagine you are a curator at The National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. You are assigned with preparing an exhibit on a topic from World War II.
You will choose a topic from the following list that will help you learn more about a specific aspect of the war.
· The Tuskegee Airmen
· Medical Treatment on the Battlefield
· The Homefront
· Science and Technology of WWII
· Propaganda Campaigns of WWII
· Women in WWII
Title: Once you have chosen your topic you need to be thinking about a title for your exhibit. You want something that is engaging and fits the mood of the exhibit.
Introduction: Include an introduction that prepares your viewers for what they will be seeing. Explain the purpose of the exhibit and give an overview of what people will be seeing and learning.
Artifacts: Now that you have your topic and an explanation, move on to finding artifacts and items that you want to put in the exhibit. These items should offer historical insight into the time period and topic. The artifacts should make the exhibit come to life for an observer.
Depending on how you choose to organize your exhibit, these may be actual items such as military fatigues, letters, and other items that would actually be in the exhibit. They could also be maps or diagrams that relate to your topic. Other items such as taped interviews with individuals or even footage from the era can be included in the exhibit.
You must have 6 artifacts for your exhibit and each must have a paragraph explaining its importance and significance in relation to your chosen topic.
Format: Please create a PowerPoint for your exhibit. This will include your explanations and pictures of the items you plan on using in the exhibit. You may cut and paste the pictures into the PowerPoint.
Please be sure that your work is thorough, accurate, and of high quality.
